The following data protection information informs you about the type and scope of the processing of so-called personal data by DOUGLAS Marketing Solutions GmbH.

3.1. Accessing our website

When you access our website/application, the browser used on your device automatically sends information to the server of our website and temporarily stores it in a log file. The following information is also recorded without any action on your part and stored until it is automatically deleted after seven days:

  • The IP address of the calling internet-enabled device
  • The date and time of access
  • The name and URL of the retrieved file
  • The website/application from which the access was made (referrer URL)
  • The browser you are using and, if applicable, the operating system of your internet-enabled computer and the name of your access provider

The legal basis for the processing of this data is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest follows from the purposes listed below:

  • Ensuring a comfortable use of our website/application
  • Evaluation of system security and stability
  • Other administrative purposes

3.2. Contacting DOUGLAS Marketing Solutions GmbH

You have the option of contacting us in various ways. This includes, in particular, contacting us using the contact form or by email. The data processing that takes place when you contact us may serve different purposes, depending on the content of your message. As a rule, we store and process the data you provide in order to be able to deal with the matter you have contacted us about.

Your data stored in connection with contacting us will be deleted as soon as it is no longer required and is no longer subject to any statutory retention obligations. We will check whether further storage is necessary at least once a year. As a rule, we are obliged to retain copies of our business correspondence for six years (in each case from the end of the year). The legal basis for this retention is Article 6(1)(c) GDPR (fulfilment of a legal obligation).

3.3. Newsletter

On our website we offer you the opportunity to register for our newsletter. In order to ensure that no errors have been made when entering your e-mail address, we use the so-called double opt-in procedure: After you have entered your email address in the registration field, we will send you a confirmation link. Only when you click on this confirmation link will your email address be added to our mailing list. Your electronic contact data will be processed at this point solely on the basis of your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR).

By registering, you consent to us collecting the data stored about you (email address) in order to use it for our own market and opinion research (e.g. in the form of surveys to gather opinions on products) and to send you personalised advertising and special offers (exclusively for our products and services) on this basis.

You can revoke this consent at any time, e.g. via the ‘unsubscribe’ link contained in every e-mail. Your cancellation does not affect the legality of the processing of your data for the respective purpose based on your consent until the cancellation.

3.4. Website analytics

By accessing our website, you can consent to tracking services. The purpose of these services is to analyse the usage behaviour of visitors to our website. Your browser transmits data about your use of our website to servers of Piwik PRO or service providers commissioned by Piwik PRO in the EU, where it is further processed in accordance with Piwik Pro’s privacy policy. Piwik PRO may use cookies, tags, IP addresses and so-called fingerprinting for this purpose. This may include the collection or processing of the following data:

  • The (shortened) IP address of the requesting internet-enabled device
  • The date and time of access
  • The name and URL of the retrieved file
  • The website/application from which the access was made (referrer URL)
  • The browser you are using and, if applicable, the operating system and other characteristics of your internet-enabled computer (e.g. your screen resolution).

The cookies used in this context have a storage period of up to 2 years. If Piwik PRO stores the collected data as part of order processing, the storage period of this data is limited to a maximum of 14 months.

The legal basis for the processing of your data in connection with Piwik Pro is Article 6(1)(a) GDPR in conjunction with your consent. You can revoke this consent at any time in the cookie settings. The withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.

3.5. Categories of recipients

We may commission external service providers with data processing for certain tasks (e.g. data centres, consultants). Whenever we work with such service providers, they are bound by contractual agreements to observe data protection in the same way as we are.

4. Your rights

4.1. Overview

In accordance with the provisions of the GDPR, you have various rights that you can assert against us. These include the right to object to selected data processing, in particular data processing for advertising purposes. In addition to the right to revoke your consent given to us, you have the following additional rights if the respective legal requirements are met:

  • Right to information about your personal data stored by us in accordance with Article 15 GDPR
  • Right to rectification of inaccurate data or completion of correct data in accordance with Article 16 GDPR
  • Right to erasure of your data stored by us in accordance with Article 17 GDPR
  • Right to restriction of the processing of your data in accordance with Article 18 GDPR
  • Right to data portability in accordance with Article 20 GDPR
  • Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. As a rule, you can contact the supervisory authority of your usual place of residence or workplace or our company headquarters for this purpose

4.2. Right of objection

You have the right to object, on grounds relating to your particular situation, at any time to processing of personal data concerning you which is based on Article 6(1)(f), including profiling based on those provisions. We will then no longer process the personal data unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing which override your interests, rights and freedoms, or the processing serves the establishment, exercise or defense of legal claims.

If your personal data are processed for direct marketing purposes, you have the right to object at any time to the processing of your personal data for such marketing, which includes profiling to the extent that it is related to such direct marketing. If you object to the processing for direct marketing purposes, the personal data will no longer be processed for these purposes.
